About Udaipur
Udaipur is a City of Lakes in the state of Rajasthan in western India. Udaipur is the historic capital of the kingdom of Mewar in the former Rajputana Agency. The Guhils (Sisodia) clan ruled the Mewar and its capital was shifted from Chittorgarh to Udaipur after founding city of Udaipur by Maharana Uday Singh. The Mewar province became part of Rajasthan after India became independent.

Lake Palace : Initially built for royal family as a summer Palace, now a hotel rated 5 Star.
City Palace : Built in 1559, a Palace for the King of the city .Now it have a number of hotels which are owned by the royal family.
Jag Mandir : A place built as an Island in the pichola lake which is famous for the gardens it have. Now it is a restaurant which is owned and maintained by HRH hotels group.
Mansoon Palace : Initially placed to built 9 stories building left 3 store build as the death of the king, the palace is build on one of the highest hill in the area.
Jagdish Temple : A large temple of Hindus built by Maharana Jagat Singh in the year of 1651 which is an example of great architecture.
Fateh Sagar lake : In the north side of lake pichola, lies the Fateh Sagar lake. A man made lake build in the year of 1678.
Lake Pichola : A lake having two Islands which are hotels now is spreaded in 12 Km2 area, 3 km in width and 4 Km in length.
Saheliyo Ki bari : A place build for the ladies of the royal family Specially the princess of the city.
Gulab Bagh : The Garden full of roses built by Maharana Sajjan singh, famous for its library and the Zoo.
Doodh Talai : A garden built on rock having a beautiful view of sunset and lake pichola.
Bhartiya Lok kala mandal : A museum having a puppet show and folk arts.
Moti Mangri : A hill names Perl hill at the side of fateh Sagar lake build in the memory of Maharana Pratap.
Nehru Garden : A park build as an island in the Fatehsagar lake having an area of 170,000 metre2.
Bagore Ki Haveli : An Old building at the side of pichola lake as a museum showing traditional Rajasthan.
Ahar Museum : A place located 2 Km from the city center having cremated Mewar Maharajas which are 19 in number.
Shilpgram : An artificial village created on the northwest of the city very close to the fateh Sagar lake which is a major attraction for the tourists.
How to reach:
Air : Maharana Pratap airport also known as the Dabok airport, as the town nearby named Dabok. There are daily flights to and from Jaipur, Dehli , Mumbai and Jodhpur. The airport is situated about 20 Km from the city center. The airport is re-innovated and now it have the capicity to handle international Flights from year 2011.
Train : The city have a direct Broad Guage line and have daily trains to The capital of the state and the country. A few luxurios trains also connects the city namely Palace on wheels, The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, etc.
Road: The city is connected by NH8 and lies in the Golden Quadrilateral as a place between Mumbai and Delhi which are the two most important cities of India, One as Capital and other as the Dock.
